I was born December 23, 1959 in Oakland, California. I started taking guitar lessons in Norfolk, Virginia at the age of 8. My dad was a Rear Admiral in the Navy and we lived on the Naval air station in Norfolk. A few bands I loved when I was young The Kinks, Faces, Mott the Hoople and The Band. I always made up my own songs and really started writing them down in my early 20s. I was Americana like The Band in the 60's and 70's and still am. I write about life - Pain, loneliness and hope.
"Born an Outsider"
I was born an outsider,
I was born away from the crowd,
I was born an outsider,
An outsider in every town.
I was born an outsider,
I was born with rebel blood,
I was born an outsider,
Am I someone you could love?
I was born an outsider,
that's the way I live my life
I was born an outsider,
An outsider I will die.
